Yoga: Because every person has different physical needs, I work one on one in a private session (or small group).
Hatha Yoga . . . This class allows you to work comfortably at your own pace in a stress free, non competitive environment. Classical Yoga poses (asanas) and stretches that focus on alignment, posture improvement and self awareness are explored. Breathing, relaxation techniques and stress management form an integral part of this nurturing class. Suited for individuals seeking simplicity and skills for living a more relaxed and content lifestyle. All levels of practice are welcome.
Yin Yoga . . . Please join me for a Yin yoga class in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment, no matter what size, age, flexibility or fitness level. A beautiful slower practice that involves holding poses, mostly seated, for longer periods of time. Poses are generally held for up to 3-5 minutes with a focus on the connective tissues and the joints. The main physical benefits of yin yoga are the hydration of the connective tissues and the increased blood flow in the joints. We tap into our parasympathetic nervous system so we can relax and allow our body to do its natural magic restoring and nourishing our tissues and systems. It is a perfect complimentary practice to athletics, active styles of yoga and the challenges of living in the world. The stillness of Yin Yoga takes us deeper into our observing nature where we learn to find acceptance, compassion and to be present in the moment.
Reiki: Reiki means “universal life energy”, an energy, which is all around us. It is an ancient healing method that manipulates energy flow in the body. It is thought that Reiki releases energy flow and allows the body’s own natural healing ability to work.
Reiki treatment, which is facilitated by the “light laying on of hands,” typically causing rapid stress reduction and relief from pain and anxiety. Recipients commonly report improved sleep and digestion, a great sense of well-being, feeling more motivated, less depressed or experiencing relief from side effects of medications, radiation or chemotherapy.
Thank you for your interest. Please feel free to reach out to discuss what practices or training would be right for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
May you be well,
Halley
